Oh yes it is! Announcing the lead cast of Rumpelstiltskin, our 2024 Christmas show, we are excited to welcome Michael Guest who will play Rumpelstiltskin, Scarlett Mack who joins us as Bunnyflops and Adam Buksh as Duncan McWoof. They are supported by an ensemble cast of HND Musical Theatre students from Glasgow Kelvin College.
Michael Guest trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating from the BA Acting Course in 2021. Theatre credits include: The Comedy of Errors (Winner: Best Ensemble CATS Awards 2022), A Christmas Carol, Red Riding Hood (Citizens Theatre), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Scottish National Opera), Joke (Play, Pie, Pint) and Warriors (Army@TheFringe). Screen and radio credits include: Damaged (Amazon Prime), The Fall (BBC), The Five Thousand (BBC) and Raven's Hollow (Shudder).
Scarlett Mack studied Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and theatre work includes Bold Girls & Vanya at The Citizens Theatre, Ghosts: The Tron Theatre, Blithe Spirit: Perth Theatre and Multiple shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. She has also worked with Stellar Quines, The Lowry Theatre, The Dukes Theatre, and many more. TV/Film work includes: The Nest (BBC), Dog Squad (BBC), Princess Mirror Belle (BBC), Outlander (Starz), Daly Grind (BBC), Rab C Nesbitt(BBC), The Demon Headmaster (BBC) and Blackbird.
In addition to narrating dozens of audiobooks, her voice can be heard regularly in commercials, radio plays, and video games.
Scarlett said: ‘"I’m really excited to be joining the company and playing the role of Bunnyflops - a sentence I never thought I would hear myself say! I hope you enjoy the show as much I am enjoying making it."
Adam Buksh is a Glasgow based actor, who has worked all around the UK for the last 10 years. He’s been involved in TV, theatre, pantomime, voice-over, motion capture for the Bannockburn Exhibition and is currently a continuity announcer for STV. Some of his credits include Burning Bright (PPP), The Stane (BBC Sounds), Scot Squad (BBC), Cinderella (Ayr Gaiety), Macbeth (Proteus Theatre), One Mississippi (Dijli).
Adam: “I'm thrilled to be joining the cast at Platform this year for Rumpelstiltskin and hoping to share plenty of laughs, cheers and boo's with audiences as Duncan McWoof and other roles within the show. And if you want to sing along with any of the songs you recognise, absolutely join in!”
