July - December 2025 creative programme announced…

We are delighted to announce our new season creative programme for July to December 2025 - all on sale now! This runs alongside our Taking Part programme which is packed with lots of classes and workshops for all ages, and offered on a Pay-What-You-Like basis.

Drop into Platform for SPOTLIGHT: AN EXHBITION BY ART FACTORY AND NU GEN which opened at the end of June and is running all the way until Sat 30 Aug. Come along during Glasgow Life's opening hours, Monday to Saturday, 10am - 5pm (8pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays), to get the chance to look at the incredible work done by our Taking Part groups. 

Join us for THREE60's SHUFFLE SCRATCH NIGHT on Fri 18 Jul at 7pm. Are you interested in Street Dance, Hip-Hop & African dance styles? Then this scratch night dedicated to Scottish street dance artists will be perfect for you. The evening showcases four exciting acts, each one sharing a performance that reflects their unique take on street dance. 

On Sat 19 July & Sat 26 July, we have our SUMMER FESTIVALS from 12pm - 4pm. The first of these two festival days will take place in Alexandra Park on Sat 19 July, and the second will be at The Bridge. Both are packed full of activities, live entertainment, rides and inflatables, stalls, workshops, food and drinks - and much more! Come along with the whole family to join in the fun! 

Come to Platform to attend the launch of the EASTERHOUSE STAINED GLASS WINDOW, inspired by archive material and community stories and handmade collectively by local people with Keira Mclean and Joey Simons. Join us from 2pm - 4pm on Thu 24 July. This event is free but ticketed, so make sure to book your tickets in advance to secure your spot. Ticket link here. 

Moving into September, we have the return of the popular BIG BAND TEA DANCES with Jon Ritchie and That Swing Sensation on Tue 16 & Wed 17 September, at 1pm. Join us for tea dance extravaganza and enjoy live music, tea, sandwiches, cakes, guest vocalists, dancers and more. 

We are also delighted to be hosting the film screening of BEANS ON SCREEN, a film about the power of beans and the benefits of growing, cooking and eating together as a community. This film screening is part of the Take One Action Film Festival, and will feature FARE Community Allotments. 

Also opening in September is DAYTRIPPING, an exhibition of a collection of evocative photographs by Alan Dimmick, documenting the joy of day trips, celebrating people and place. Selected from a vast archive, the photos celebrate old traditions of west coast jaunts, including Millport, Isle of Cumbrae. Opening on Sat 20 Sept, this free exhibition is running until Sat 17 Jan 2026, Mondays to Saturdays during Glasgow Life Opening hours, so drop in anytime. 

At the beginning of October, we have the incredible STUNTMAN, an explosive physical performance by two men exploring the relationships between violence and masculinity through stunts and satire. Come along to this SUPERFAN performance at 7pm on Tuesday 7 October. 

For children and families we welcome HERCULES THE BEAR, a Scottish Theatre Producers' performance, coming to Platform on Saturday 11 October. This performance is inspired by the true story of a 10-foot grizzly bear raised in Scotland by human parents, and is definitely not one to miss. 

The following Saturday (18 Oct), DORIS UHLICH: COME BACK AGAIN will be in Platform. Presented by Take Me Somewhere, this is a performance about the courage to challenge one's own body biography and choose previously untaken paths at an advanced age. Choreographer Doris Uhlich collaborates with Susanne Kirnbauer-Bundy for this world premiere. 

THESE MECHANISMS by Christine Thynne & Robbie Synge will be at Platform on Tuesday 21 Oct, in a performance bringing together an octogenarian, stepladders, electronics…and water? Brimming with joy and curiosity, Christine manipulates an raps her way along a precarious journey, taking us to interesting places. 

We have more amazing performances from Take Me Somewhere Festival 2025 on Thursday 23 Oct, the first WAYQUEYCUNA is at 7pm and follows artist Tiziana Cruz as he takes the knotty path back to childhood in northern Argentina to reconnect with his community. On the same evening, immediately afterwards, will be HANDLE WITH CARE at 8:45pm. Handle With Care puts the audience in control - choose your role and see how the performance unfolds. 

The final Saturday of October will see GLASGOW EAST COMICON coming to Platform. Join us for all things film and comics, exploring costumes and props, browse trader stalls, geek out and get your picture taken with your favourite characters - with some very special guests coming along. This collaboration between FUSE and Platform is not one to miss, so come on down on Saturday 25 Oct at 11am. 

Rounding out October, Starcatchers and Dirliebane Theatre Company present LAAAUNCH! coming to Platform on Fri 31 Oct & Sat 1 Nov. Made specially for babies up to 12 months, join stellar adventurers Dot, Dash and Minim for an interactive and rhythmical journey of physical exploration, strength, excitement and determination that requires the expertise of your baby.

Moving into November, Snap-Elastic present DUSSSKK, a highly interactive, sensory performance for disabled and neurodivergent teenagers and their companions. Featuring singing, costumes and dancing, DUSSSKK has been made specifically with and for young people who enjoy sound. Come along to Platform on Sat 8 Nov at 11am & 2pm to enjoy this performance. 

And last but not least we are super excited for the return of the Christmas show, which this year will be…A CHRISTMAS CAROL. From the team that brought you Cinderella and Rumpelstiltskin and written by Lewis Hetherington, this Christmas performance is definitely not one to miss, with a new modern take on the classic Christmas tale. Will the three spooky and very silly ghosts help Carol Scrooge find the true meaning of Christmas before it is too late? Come along to any of the to a day or evening performance from Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 24 December to find out! Group bookings available.
