Platform is absolutely delighted to be supporting FARE Scotland’s Emergency Food Hamper with our award of just over £10,000 from Glasgow City Council’s Children’s Holiday Food Programme Fund.
The funding had been originally awarded to us to run our free breakfast and lunch club during the Easter break at The Bridge, which is currently closed. We would like to thank Glasgow City Council for allowing us to pass on the award in this way and contribute towards the wonderful work Jimmy Wilson and everyone at FARE is carrying out.
This initiative by FARE, in response to Covid-19, is to provide extra food provision and essentials to the most vulnerable in our communities. They are using funds raised to deliver food and toiletries to families and senior citizens in need, along with helping with gas & electricity bills.
