Last month, Platform's Monday Night Drama travelled to Inverness to perform ’YER DA WORKS AT TESCO’ at the National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT).
‘YER DA WORKS AT TESCO’ is a performance where teenagers explain capitalism to other teenagers. Economy, budgets, inequality, taxes and taxis. Bankruptcy, freedom, private property and inherited wealth. Through humour, curiosity and conversation, Platform's Monday Night Drama attempts to shed light on the complex and mysterious system of capitalism one word at a time.
Alongside performing, the festival gave the cast the chance to watch other productions, meet young people from youth theatres across Scotland and enjoy a weekend celebrating performance:
"We had an overwhelmingly positive time at NFYT because we all got to step out of our comfort zones and meet new people. There were lots of opportunities to meet other groups and other teenagers from youth theatres across Scotland and learn new things about theatre – like cabaret acts!"
