Made in Easterhouse 20:26 | Where To?

12 May 2026

One of the first Made in Easterhouse 20:26 projects to mark Platform's birthday year is Where To?  - a short film created by artists Lou Brodie and Geraldine Heaney, Avenue End Primary P5's and P6/5's, children from Pavillion Juniors and some of Glasgow's Taxi Drivers.

The film short is being screened for the first time as part of MAKE DO on Saturday 16 May at Platform, 12noon - 2pm, which is free and drop in. Ideal for all ages, the event is part of Glasgow Climate Week and is a skills exchange event with free activities, stalls and refreshments.

Geraldine and Lou said: "Where To? began with a conversation. One morning we sat with John, a taxi driver, and talked about everything: cars, bikes, low emissions zones, Covid, the legacy of Glasgow's Black cabs and the age-old frustration of big decisions being made by people who never bother to ask the folk most affected by them.

"John got us thinking. If taxi drivers carry years of experience, local knowledge and memories the rest of us have half-forgotten, what would children want to ask them? And what might children's questions reveal about how we imagine the future, the hopes we're holding onto and the fears quietly riding along with us?

“The film is their conversation. Questions from children from a local primary school and community group, answered by the black cab drivers of the East End, taking us somewhere we didn't quite expect.”

Pop along to see the film, which is viewed from within the taxi installation itself, and which the creation of features in the film. The taxi was made by Neve Pearce with the help off the groups involved. Drop into to see the film anytime between 12noon - 2pm.

There lots of free activities to enjoy at MAKE DO - see line up here - as well as the launch of The Easterhouse Almanac by Rebecca Fraser - a brand new resource packed full of tips and ideas. Collect your copy to take home at the event.
