Food, theatre & music at our latest Full House Day

1 Mar 2023

On Thursday 16 March we have a packed Full House event with pre-theatre food, pop up music and a performance of A Wee Journey.

Between 5pm and 6.45pm we are delighted to have Soul Food Sisters delivering a pop up food service in the Platform café bar. Soul Food Sisters is a group of migrant women based in the east end of Glasgow, together creating a vibrant, female-led collective based around their favourite thing: food! A not-for-profit organisation they bring together women from all over the world, with an aim to end social isolation and empower them to develop their talents in the kitchen and beyond.

They will be serving a relaxed, informal style meal with an option of vegan stew with mixed vegetables served with rice and bread, or North African chicken stew with potatoes and chickpeas. A couscous salad with parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and green salad will accompany - and to finish there is lemon cake or vegan biscuits. Price for meal between £7-£9. The meal will be served in takeaway boxes to eat in the Platform cafe - and is offered on a drop in basis - first come, first serve, until stock runs out.

At 6pm there will be free pop up music performances in the café bar with our Fiddle tutor Celine and some of the participants of our adult Taking Part music classes sharing some traditional Scottish folk songs. Sit back and enjoy or bring an instrument and join in!

7pm sees A Wee Journey commence in our theatre. A choreographed musical journey about migration, the performance is a timely and relevant piece that fuses dance, music and performance to explore belonging, connection, community and home. Tickets from £4. Full details / to book click here.
