A film commissioned by Luminate in association with Platform.
Saturday 22 April marked the return of Platform's live music programme with our multi-artform festival day, Made in Easterhouse.
The day was jam-packed with music, theatre, and visual art and with a brilliant audience in attendance, it was a great day all round.
MC's Hamish Orr and Geraldine Heaney based themselves in the Platform Cafe Bar and had a pretty fun time creating a giant To Do list - which involved all sorts of shenanigans from hosting a record-store day vinyl swap, directing people to shows, dancing with our audiences and taking requests for tunes for their DJ set.
Big thanks to Suzi and Lewis of Free Love and k.yalo, Coulson & Tennant with the launch of East End Portraits (on until Aug 2023), R.AGGS, Town Centre, BRENDA and Junglehussi for performing. A special shout out for the performance from our Thursday Night Drama group (directed by Eoin McKenzie) with their work-in-progress, ‘People Dancing’ - an amazing piece of work that had the audience itching to get on the dancefloor!
Staying true to the ‘made in Easterhouse vibe’ it was great to have our very own Art Factory group along hosting a stall selling artwork, our Clack and Group had knitting for sale and we had the FARE Scotland in attendance with plants and produce from the Lochend Community Allotment.
The whole day was fantastic as is reflected in these two great reviews from The Scotsman and The Fringe Review.
After the great success of Made in Easterhouse, we're looking forward to more live music at Platform - watch this space!
