Nu Gen is a weekly art group for those aged 12 - 16 years old.
Led by a professional artist, each session is designed to develop skills and knowledge in different themes and techniques in art.
Perfect for young people interested in drawing, painting or sculpture - and a chance to experiment with materials and learn new techniques to make artworks.
No experience needed and all materials will be provided.

BOOKING DETAILS | PAY-WHAT-YOU-LIKE
These classes are offered on a Pay-What-You-Like basis, where you decide what to pay. As a guide, we recommend a payment of £5 per class. Activities are booked as a full block and a taster session may be available (dependent on availability) if you wish to try a class first - to enquire about a taster session please email tickets@platform-online.co.uk
Pay online or at the class itself in cash (we have a donations box to drop payment into) or by card - you can either pay for the full block up front or pay each week. Please note you must pre book your space before attending - please do not attend until you have booking confirmation.
Alice Dansey-Wright has led Nu Gen in the past and offers an insight into what to expect:
“I work in both art and design and this includes painting murals, designing textiles and teaching art classes. At Nu Gen we look at all different topics, artists and techniques during Nu Gen - it’s a friendly group and we have lots of fun. Art is for everyone - there is no ‘right’ way to draw or be creative - the main thing is to get started and see what happens!
“A few ideas to try at home– focusing on kitchen inspiration! Draw your weekly shop or the contents of your fruit bowl/snack cupboard. Can you make art with food? Try making something simple with dried goods such as lentils, pasta and rice. Take a look at the work of Manami Sasaki and Haneefah Adam for inspiration”.
