A fun and creative art group for teenagers who are keen to experiment with materials and learn new techniques to make artworks.
Celebrate Platform's 20th birthday at Made In Easterhouse 2026 - a multi-artform festival / birthday bash featuring live music, bold performance, and new, original visual art!
2026 is a special year for Platform as we ring in 20 years of participatory arts and community outreach in Easterhouse, having first opened our doors in autumn 2006 as part of the award winning The Bridge complex.
Platform started the year with a bold approach to turning 20 – supporting, creating and delivering 26 creative projects and live events throughout the year – one being Made in Easterhouse 2026 festival.
The event heralds the past and the future - 20 years of Platform in motion; live, open, experimental and still making space for what happens next.
The Platform Cafe Bar will be in full swing with food and drinks - plus enjoy a slice of birthday cake on us!
Hear from some of the artists and participants behind the work and enjoy some very special performances. Everyone is welcome - come and join us!
Tickets are £5 (Local Links rate), £6 (concession) and £9.50 (standard) and provide entry from 4pm with access to all events throughout the festival.
LINE UP:
-Akashic Records' Listening Outpost with DICK50 featuring L + R.AGGS - an improvised set by some of Platform's favourite music folk from Glasgow's experimental scene. Expect something weird and anarchic - with some possible local legends making appearances too.
-Sacred Paws & Pals Birthday Gig - former Easterhouse Conversations guests, Sacred Paws make a return to the venue to play a set for our birthday celebration - in a lineup that includes our local favourites The Provans and possibly a few unexpected guests too!
-Glasgow Library of Synthesised Sound - Make An Album In A Day + Album Launch Party!
-Project Ability Live Portraits – get your portrait (or one with your pals) painted to take home
-David Sherry - Performances, Artworks + Happenings - we have invited David to respond to the building and the community within it, alongside existing artworks for people to explore throughout the event and at particularly moments throughout the evening.
-Durty Beanz - New Stuff + Goodie Bags - offering a glimpse into a project they are currently developing with Platform
-Helen Charman + People of Platform - What Does an Arts Centre Mean to Us? Creating a piece of writing, author + writer Helen Charman is spending time with Platform’s archive and with the people and work happening here now, asking a deceptively simple question: what is an arts centre for?
-Cranhill Arts’ Glaswegians - a new photography exhibition by Cranhill Arts. In 1989, 22 people from Cranhill Arts and surrounding area became photographers, capturing nearly 40,000 portraits of fellow citizens by 1993. This large-scale Platform exhibition marks the biggest showing of the Glaswegians photographs in 35 years.
-Print Clan with live screen printing – the brilliant Print Clan team return to Platform - screen print something to take home with you
-Katrine Turner & Monday Night Drama present ‘Yer Da Works At Tesco’ - we've invited back our teenage drama group to perform their anti-capitalist performance piece around the building - expect shopping trollies, clubcard escapades, and mischief all around!
AND lots more + 20th Birthday Cake!
