Margaret McCormick, Visual Arts Programmer for Platform shared her thoughts on the campaign...
It was tea dance fever this week at Platform with our two afternoon dances - compered by Jon Ritchie with music from the wonderful That Swing Sensation band - and some brilliant guest vocalists.
Dancers from Boogie Box Jive were on hand once again to lead on the dancing, taking to the floor with guests as well as performing routines with each other - including getting everyone up onto the floor for the slosh!
Our auditorium was transformed into an amazing ballroom featuring beautiful handmade art works and table cloths created by local people, and guests were served teas and coffees, as well as cakes and sandwiches, at their table.
One of the attendees said “I’m impressed with the whole event - on entering the dance hall , it was ‘enchanting’! The band is great. I have seen them many times, and the supporting artists superb. Looking forward to the next one.”
