Running between 12 - 16 October, we'll be giving out free food to children and their families in the local area.
The Platform Summer Holiday Food & Activities programme has come to an end, and what an busy summer it has been.
Over the last 6 weeks, we've welcomed families from across the community, serving thousands of free breakfasts and lunches while offering a programme packed with fun and creative activities.
This summer's programme included dance workshops, arts and crafts, puppet theatre, printmaking, sports taster sessions and the opportunity to make your own animation (watch the full video here). Participants also got creative by making decorations for The Bridge Birthday Parade, designing crowns, doing colouring activities, watching movie screenings andl ots more.
One attendee shared: “It has been great to have a range of activities every week to choose from.” Another parent said: “The café staff are all great, and we are happy to have something so local.” One young participant told us: “The last day dance party was so fun! I loved the face painting.”
Hearing feedback like this is a reminder just how valuable programme like this are for bringing people together and providing welcoming spaces for families throughout the school holidays.
The success of the programme is a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our staff, hosts, artists and volunteers. Thank you to our funders, Glasgow City Council's Children's Holiday Food & Activity Programme, for making this programme possible.
And a huge thank you to everyone who attended - we look forward to welcoming you back to Platform soon!
