Creation Station is back with a second video - CS Weather and an interview with Mr Chad. Tune in!
Over the last few months, our Platform Singers have been collaborating with students from RCS’s BA Arts with Community course to create a unique, collaborative work.
The students, guided by artists Rachel Hynes and Judith Brocklehurst, explored the sculptural possibilities of breath and voice in a visual, architectural and aural way.
The students created a portable machine with the vision it could be used to help people in hospital settings to manage their breathlessness. They sampled the singers singing ‘Bring Me Little Water Sylvie’, and made midi tracks that can be heard on the machine, which they aptly named Sylvie!
There are visual prompts to encourage visitors to learn the body percussion, and handmade organ pipes that people can blow into and sound.
Sylvie is housed at Platform, and we will have her on display at The Bridge Birthday Party!
If you would like to get involved with the Platform Singers, their Taking Part block starts again on Friday 4th September.
