Platform’s Summer Holiday Club… the story so far!

17 Jul 2026

The first few weeks of the Platform Summer Holiday Club have been packed with plenty of fun! It has been wonderful to welcome so many children and families through our doors.

Our programme started off with Print Clan, where the kids got creative printing their own t-shirts and banners. Arts and crafts have also been a huge hit, with our Art Club takeover and some brilliant sessions led by Kate and Elise. We were especially excited to see some of the fantastic artwork featured in our Birthday Parade at the Bridge Family Festival.

Our cinema has been buzzing too, showing some of our favourite films alongside an exciting collaboration with Glasgow Short Film Festival as part of their summer programme, GLASGOW TOONS! Everyone enjoyed screenings of the specially created short films before taking part in a hands-on animation workshop, where children had the chance to create their very own animated stories.

We also had Sprog Rock leading interactive music workshops. And, with the warm summer weather making an appearance, our smoothie making sessions proved to be the perfect way to cool down while learning how to make delicious and healthy drinks.

There has been a great range of activities over the past few weeks, and none of it would have been possible without our artists and Cafe Staff. Thanks to everyone who has given their time and creativity, and to all our participants for spending their summer with us!

The Summer Holiday Club is open to children and their families every weekday until Friday 7 August, offering free breakfasts, lunches and creative activities throughout the day. There's no need to book - just drop in! Find out more via our What's On section of the website.

Please note: The Summer Holiday Club will be closed on Fair Monday 20th July and we'll be back as normal the following day  until 7th August.

Thank you Glasgow City Council's Children's Holiday Food and Activity Programme.
