It was a fantastic day at Platform on Saturday 18 June as we held a series of events all in the same day - with the return of our much loved Saturday Art Club, a touching performance of MaMa and pop ups from up Nevis Ensemble in and around The Bridge - and out in our lovely local community at Springboig Nursing Home.
Saturday Art Club hosted two workshops for children and families, inspired by block printing, the workshop covered the basics of printmaking using a mixture of found materials handmade surfaces to create textures and patterns. It was great to see so many wee ones come along and have fun with art!
Nevis Ensemble, our new musicians in residence at The Bridge, performed a series of free pop of performances in various locations in and around the building and were well received at Springboig Nursing Home.
We also hosted a performance of MaMa at 2pm, a dance based production exploring themes of pregnancy and early motherhood. The performance was accompanied by original composed music weaving together Celtic and South Asian sounds.
