Summer is here at last and we have lots of FREE family friendly activities taking place at The Bridge over the summer holidays. With something for all ages, all events will take place in The Bridge car park. Although free, activities are ticketed and pre booking is essential (except for our food takeaway which is drop in) so please book your ticket in advance.

FREE FOOD TAKEAWAY | 28 June - 13 August 2021 | Mondays to Fridays | 11.30am - 1pm
Our fantastic team is back with our free summer food takeaway!
Running for 7 weeks, we will be providing free meal bags to local children and their families to take away and eat at home. This is a drop in service and no referral or sign up is required - just turn up on the day.
Meals can be collected between 11.30am and 1pm (or until bags are all given out) from The Bridge car park. Bags will contain a drink and a mix of cereal, snacks, treats and fruit, as well as a meal from local suppliers.
Drop in - no referral required and no need to book. Please note that a limited number of customers are accessing The Bridge swimming pool and the Platform team will be on hand to manage any queues. Social distancing measures will be in place and 1 person (adult) per family to collect where possible. We please ask you to wear a mask when queuing/collecting. Thank you to the Glasgow City Council’s Children’s Holiday Food Programme for funding.
Every Friday during the school summer holidays we have a packed programme of activities taking place - including performances, art pack giveaways and workshops for kids and climate, art & fashion inspired workshops for teenagers! Capacities are small and booking is essential.
Art Activities & Workshops | 10.30 - 11.30am | Age 5 -11yrs
On Fridays will be giving out free art kits created by artist Alice Dansey-Wright, which are packed with activities and materials. We will also be hosting in-person art workshops for local audiences with the packs each Friday too. Speak to a member of the team to sign up or get in touch using the contact details above!

Rocking out Easterhouse, Sprog Rock bring live music to Platform this summer with their specially created, super energetic and giggle inducing family friendly setlist! Comprised of musicians from across the city, the band make and perform songs especially for young audiences. Get ready to boogie! More info here.

A fantastic dance show from the brilliant Room 2 Manoeuvre that blends hip hop, break dance and great tunes in a quirky, fun and engaging experience. More info here.
The Swings | Fri 23 Jul | 12pm, 1pm, 2.30pm & 3.30pm | All ages
“Life was never better on a swing, the higher the better”
A 5 metre high giant swing set, 2 swings, 2 aerialists and a sound installation where you can play, watch and listen.
Come and enter the world of The Swings. We love playing and swinging about on our giant swing set and we’d love you to have a go too. Watch as our aerialists swing, climb, play and perform for you. Then the Swings are open to experience. Your swinging will activate a soundscape full of memories of being on a swing. Feel the rush of air past your face, and be inspired by our aerialists with what you can do with a swing! More info here.

Are you dancing? Those fabulous, sparkly unicorns are back and ready for some disco, glitter, fun and frolicking! Spreading joy by busting the best moves and encouraging the audience to join the fun get ready to clap your hands, dance to some fantastic jams and find your inner unicorn! More info here.
Jon Ritchie & That Swing Sensation Band | 11.30am & 1.30pm | Fri 6 Aug | All ages
Dust off those dancing shoes and get ready to swing and sway your Friday away as our resident tea dance band return to entertain us with some big band classics! Enjoy some interactive roaming performance from the fantastic Mischief La-Bas team as they get up to high jinks in Easterhouse! JIMMY CAUTY’S ESTATE | Tue 29 Jun - Fri 30 Jul | Various times | Adults & age 5yrs+
An exciting new art installation from the founding member of The KLF will be visiting The Bridge car park. ESTATE is a visionary model village experience featuring 4 abandoned concrete tower blocks housed in a 40-foot shipping container. The installation is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. CLIMATE INSPIRED NATURE, FASHION & ART WORKSHOPS | Various dates & times | Age 12 -18yrs
Platform is excited to be running a creative programme of free workshops for young people aged 12-18 years old, themed around nature, climate change and the environment. Ahead of the much-anticipated climate change conference, COP 26, in Glasgow this November, these are great for those who want to make a difference but don’t know where to start.
The first round of workshops took place over the Easter holidays, and we are looking for teenagers to come and join us for our next run of workshops in early July. Sessions are super friendly, lots of fun and no experience is needed - just enthusiasm!
