Made In Easterhouse Exhibition

29 Sep 2016 → 27 Nov 2016
All ages
Free

As part of our 10 year celebrations in October, the exhibition Made In Easterhouse will celebrate ‘making’ in all its forms. We expect to present a collective selection of objects representing the groups and individuals Deirdre has met during are residency and in doing so, represent the diverse place that Easterhouse is in terms of location, heritage and people.

In celebrating all things Made in Easterhouse we will exhibit those objects side by side allowing everyone and everything an even platform under the theme of locality and making.

Through meeting groups Deirdre has discussed both contemporary and historical aspects of Easterhouse. As a result of this body of research Deirdre will create a textile inspired by the micro and macro in both of Easterhouse history and place. New collaborations have emerged involving sound, photography and textiles with sound artist Jason Singh and photographer Colin Tennant.

Jason Singh
will join Deirdre for a period of time in October to explore the micro of Easterhouse in sound, visuals and textile. We will be blogging daily on our progress and discoveries. You can find Jasons Blog here
