A two hour creative workshop exploring and celebrating Latinx heritage, art, and culture in Scotland.
Session will feature a blend of movement exercises and creative writing tasks exploring homelands, migration and mixed identity.
This creative workshop led by Margot Conde Arenas centres around exploring experiences of migration, ancestral memory, and of multicultural identity. Through a mix of guided somatic movement and short writing tasks exploring homelands, migration and mixed identity, these creative tasks will contribute to research and development of the artists work ‘el mar entre nosotros’; an intimate solo performance merging movement, text, and immersive video projection, exploring water as an archive of diaspora, finding possibilities of belonging in bodies of water, and decolonising ideas of national and cultural identities.

The session will end with some open discussion about Latinx and multicultural communities in Scotland, with a specific focus on arts and community workers. The workshop will be a space to be creative, to share, and to learn from one another.
