Frozen Light

Ancient Oak of Baldor

Thu 26 & Fri 27 Feb 2026 | 11am & 1.30pm
13yrs+
£9.50 (standard) | £6 (concession) | £5

The Ancient Oak stands strong in the Forest of Baldor, in the land of Earten. There it has stood for millennia, rooted deeply to both the land and people of the forest. On this day at the cusp of winter, the people of Baldor are celebrating The Great Cracking of the Ancient Oak.

Elspeth hoped this was the day that Lars would return. But when he doesn’t, she is taken on an unexpected journey. One that she will never forget.

Frozen Light welcomes you into their latest fantasy realm, where we discover what truly nourishes us through the long nights is our capacity for love in all its different forms.

A multi-sensory experience for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their companions, offering the chance to gather and experience the collective power of shared stories.

ABOUT FROZEN LIGHT

Frozen Light makes multi-sensory theatre for adult and young adult audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Founded in 2013, Frozen Light have created 8 shows which have toured to over 70 different venues across the UK.

In 2016, Frozen Light was the first company to take a show specifically for audiences with PMLD to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and we returned in 2017 as part of the British Council Showcase. In 2019 we were invited to New Zealand to collaborate with Touch Compass Dance and support the development of the country’s first show specifically for audiences with PMLD, Masina Returning Home.

Forever adapting with the times, in June 2020 Frozen Light launched The Frozen Light Podcast and in 2021 created their first digital production 2065: The Multi-Sensory Movie, followed by their first outdoor show Night Out in Nature.
