A month-long celebration of football and community from across Europe, right here in Glasgow 1-30 April. The Goethe-Institut and the Alliance Française in Glasgow together with the Scottish Football Museum present a free month-long celebration of football and community across Glasgow this April. From 1st – 30th April you will be able to experience a series of film installations and film screenings here at Platform and throughout The Bridge about how communities around the world react to the beautiful game of football. Platform is hosting offsite screenings at Grier’s Bar. All films are free and you don’t need a ticket – just come along and enjoy! There will also be a free pie and bovril waiting for you. NEXT GOAL WINS In 2001, the tiny Pacific island of American Samoa suffered a world record 31-0 defeat at the hands of Australia, garnering headlines across the world as the worst football team on the planet. It would take a miracle-maker or a madman to turn the team’s fortunes around and in maverick Dutch coach Thomas Rongen the islanders somehow find both.
