See it Safely at Platform

26 Nov 2021

As we gradually return to hosting in person events in our building here at Platform, the safety of our visitors and staff continues to be extremely important. We are pleased to be working with UK Theatre’s ‘See It Safely’ initiative, a toolkit which ensures we are compliant with the latest Scottish Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines.

We ask that you take a lateral flow test prior to travelling to the venue and stay away if this returns a positive result. Please avoid travelling to the venue if you or anyone in your party feel unwell and have any symptoms associated with COVID. We also ask you to check in with NHS Scotland Test & Protect by scanning a QR Code on arrival.

How can I get to Platform?

Be sure to set aside more than enough time for your journey here; if possible, walk or cycle at least part of the way. Please check your route if travelling by public transport as this may have recently changed. Full details on how to reach us are available here

How will my ticket work?

Tickets must be purchased in advance. This will allow us to let you enter the building more easily, minimise the amount of time you may have to queue, and reduce contact with the our team.

Will I need a face covering?

Our friendly Front of House team will be ensuring that face coverings are worn whilst moving around the building and during the performance. Masks will be available at Platform for those who need one. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering, we please ask that you wear an exemption lanyard.

What should I bring?

Please keep your belongings to a minimum and with you at all times.

What are the social distancing rules?

At the moment, we ask you to maintain a safe social distance where possible when queuing to take your seats. We will always adhere to the most recent guidelines regarding distances between audience members. Whilst the capacity in the auditorium has been greatly reduced, you may need to pass someone to take your seat.  Please mitigate any risk by keeping your mask on and turning away as you pass.

What else are we doing?

To keep you safe, we will be cleaning the venue before every performance and regularly disinfecting. Some routes may have changed in order to minimise your contact with others, so our  front of house team will guide you. The Auditorium at Platform is well ventilated and hand-washing and hand sanitising stations are accessible throughout the venue. Please use the sanitiser stations when you enter and exit the venue.

Please do not attend Platform if you:

  • believe you may be infected with COVID-19
  • have experienced symptoms in the last 14 days
  • have been in close proximity to anyone who has experienced symptoms in the last 14 days
  • have arrived in the UK in the last 14 days and are not covered by the exemption rules relating to self-isolation; or have been instructed to self-isolate

Any individual who considers themselves to be clinically extremely vulnerable or who is in the same household or support bubble as someone who considers themselves to be clinically extremely vulnerable is advised not to attend.

What happens if I feel ill and can’t use my ticket?

During Covid times we're making sure that you have maximum flexibility by allowing tickets to be exchanged or refunded prior to the performance – so if you or someone in your party feels ill, there’s no need to worry. Please contact us asap if you require a refund or exchange.

What should I do if I become unwell after my theatre visit?

We are working with the Scottish Government’s ‘Track & Trace’ system. If you display COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you inform us.

THANK YOU for playing your part, and we look forward to welcoming you at an event soon. If you have any questions at all please contact us on info@platform-online.co.uk or call 0141 279 9696
