Platform are delighted to announce that this year’s Christmas Carousal will feature the festive talents of Arab Strap’s Malcolm Middleton, Save as Collective’s MC Almond Milk and Jo Mango all on the set of our favourite winter red-nosed herbivore, Rudolf.
Fresh from a year of touring with Arab Strap, we are super chuffed that Christmas Carousal will be headlined by Malcolm Middleton. There is something particularly wintery about Malcolm whether it’s Burst Noel, Cold Winter or his Top 40 Christmas song We’re All Going to Die. Okay, so it’s not Mistletoe and Wine but it’s one of our most interesting and engaging songwriters on the set of a Christmas show!
MC Almond Milk is a dairy-free Glaswegian musician, whose bedroom rap existentialism treads a fine line between self-deprecation and self-parody. MC Almond Milk is Jamie Scott, also of rap pop duo CARBS, of Glasgow-based electronic crew Save As Collective and formerly of Conquering Animal Sound.
Jo Mango is a multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow. A sometime collaborator with Vashti Bunyan and Adem and the maker of 3 wonderfully enchanting albums. The crisp, minimal beauty of Jo’s live performances are engrossing, drawing the listener closer with her gentle whispering vocal.
So that’s Malcolm Middleton, MC Almond Milk and Jo Mango on the set of Rudolf, see you there!
