Presented by North East Area Legacy & Engagement Group #sumfest16
It’s back! This summer come and join the fun festival and carnival parades. We start with Alexandra Park, then Springburn Park on 24th and The Bridge on 30th
Everything kicks off with a colourful carnival parade with large sculptures, samba drums, pipe bands and fabulous costumes. Each parade will involve hundreds of children, young people and community groups who have been working over the summer to get ready for the festival in their area. Accompanied by professional bands the parade will be leaving at 12 noon from City Park (Alexandra Park), Barmulloch Community Centre (Springburn Park) and FARE’s Bannantyne House (The Bridge) Once you arrive in the Park there will be lots of activities for all the family which include visual arts, inflatables, children’s rides, multi sports zone, live music with local bands, dance displays, market area and community stalls promoting what’s going on in your area.
So grab the kids and come on down to the free events – oh and if you could wish for sunny weather, that would be really helpful!
