KNOTS is a brand new stage adaptation of R.D Laing’s eponymous psychological essay. 50 years after the publication of his theories, Theatre Sans Accents questions the relevance of his ideas in the light of modern technology.

KNOTS is an exploration of his legacy through a theatrical lens: social behaviours and interactions are dissected to reveal individuals and their true nature. Looking at the many relationships we encounter in life and the impact that they have on us mentally and physically, KNOTS invite actors and audience members alike to take part and reflect on their own relationships.

“They are playing a game. They are playing at not playing a game”, R.D Laing, Knots, April 1969

Directed by Kolbrun Sigfusdottir. Funded by Creative Scotland.
