Feminist Tabletop Football | call out for participants

16 Nov 2024 | 11:00am
14+ yrs
Free

FEMINIST TABLETOP FOOTBALL is based on the once popular "Subbuteo" game, inviting players to find common goals across their team, working towards a shared feminist future.

The game offers the possibility to explore a world founded on co-operation, where we find ways to work together, to realise the core principles of feminism: prioritising social justice and collective thinking over competition. The game is a playful way to explore common aims, discuss struggles, as well as the difficulties in realising this alternate reality.

WE NEED YOU!
We are looking for women and other marginalised genders (aged 14 yrs +) to take part in the project and be part of the Easterhouse version of the game.
The workshop and event will take place on: SATURDAY 16 NOVEMBER from 11am - 4pm

IN THE MORNING, from 11am - 1pm
You will take part in a workshop, discussing in teams, issues that are important to you, under the following themes: LOCAL TRANSPORT / WORK/ HEALTH.
Thinking together about why these might be feminist issues and what our common goals might be.

1pm - 2pm: lunch will be provided for everyone taking part.

IN THE AFTERNOON, after lunch, from 2pm
Set up and a run through will take place, before the game taking place from 3pm - 4pm.
