Spring arts & crafts at Full House Fridays & Social Roots

22 Mar 2024

The Platform Studio Theatre was awash with nature at the most recent Full House Friday's Bingo event which had teamed up with our weekly Social Roots session for some gorgeous, sensory arts and crafts.

Kicking off with a few games of bingo and a spot of lunch as part of Full House Fridays, Angela Smith, Community Outreach Advisor, from the Royal Horticultural Society Scotland then took over,  with demos, tips and mini workshops focusing on array of nature inspired activities. The group made spring floral wreaths, potted and planted seeds, created Kokedama's for hanging on a Friendship Tree - with everyone taking their creations home after the session had finished.

Angela said: “It's all about connecting with nature - taking an hour out to switch off, focus on wellbeing and yourself - and enjoy the new season and all the sensory delights that Spring brings”.

One of the participants added: “This is brilliant and I've really enjoyed making my wreath, learning something new and getting out of the house”.

Social Roots is run in association with Blairtummock and Rogerfield Partnership and Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership.
