Our Arts Manager of the past 10 years – Jackie Shearer took her final bow from Platform on Friday 1 April.
This May we are hosting a party on stage, hosted by a large group of 13-17 years old. They play their favourite music, talk about their music, their ideas, worries, thoughts and dreams. They hang-out and listen to each other with their audience, supporting and celebrating each other. The stage is theirs, the words are theirs, it’s their party and they do whatever they want. Presented by Take Me Somewhere, Outspoken Arts and Platform.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for performers to take part in this party! This project is open to all regardless of experience. You only need to be a teenager (aged 13 - 17) and have one song that means something to you. Maybe it’s your favourite song ever, or a song that makes you sad, makes you feel good, makes you dance or reminds you of someone. It can be any song in the world! You don’t need to know how to dance or sing or perform but you need to be willing to be on stage with a big group of teenagers and have some real, honest fun!
The show or the party will be made in close collaboration with the choreographer Ásrún Magnúsdóttir.
When and where?
Monday 20th – Friday 24th May 17:00 - 20:00 at Platform where we will listen to each other’s music, play with it and make this show/party come together!
Friday 24th May (19:00), Saturday 25th May (16:30), Sunday 26th May (16:30) at Platform
We can assist with transport to and from Platform, let us know if we can help.
