Theatre maker Sarah Hopfinger returns to Platform
School's (nearly!) out for summer! Head to Platform this school summer holiday for a packed programme of food, fun and creative activities!
Running Tuesday to Fridays from Tuesday 27 June until Friday 11 August, between 9.30am - 3pm, we’re inviting children and their families to the Platform café to sit in and enjoy a free breakfast & lunch. Drop in - no need to book and food is offered on a first come, first served basis whilst stocks last. Please note the programme doesn't run on Mondays or weekends.
We’ll have a selection of healthy, filling and delicious food on offer – with vegan and gluten free options. There will be a variety of different foods each week including cereals, toast & pancakes for breakfast along with hotdogs, cheeseburgers, wrap, sandwiches and paninis. Fresh fruit will be available daily and there will be snacks including jelly, yoghurts, cheese strings and some treats such as cakes and ice creams. Food offerings will change daily and are subject to availability.
Breakfast served → 9.30am – 11.30am
Lunch served → 12noon – 2.30pm
Activities → 11am - 1pm
We are also running free family activities from 11am until 1pm – these are aimed at those age 5 - 11yrs but are suitable for all ages. Join us for film screenings, art workshops and hang out at our new fountain inspired sculpture - The Brolly - by Dennistoun artist Maria Gondek in our Studio Theatre space next to the Platform Cafe. For art workshops and film screenings, attendees to the food programme can sign up to these on the day (please note these have a limited capacity and vary each day).
Until 2.30pm we will have free colouring sheets and pens to get creative with, as well as choice of board games to play - just drop in and get started!
There's also free Wi-Fi, the building is fully accessible and it's a great place to relax and spend some time with your family. The library is also open each day with a brilliant range of books and resources - as well as a cosy children's area with seating
