On Friday March 24, a group from our Monday Night Drama Class - led by Eoin McKenzie and Sally Charlton - took part in Emergence 2023, a showcase by Youth Theatre Arts Scotland.
This event offered ‘a first look at bold new works-in-progress from some of Scotland’s leading youth theatre directors'. Held in Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre, Platform's Artistic Director Matt accompanied the group on their trip to the capital. Their new work-in-progress, Adults are Idiots so These Teenagers Are Going to Teach Them Some Things - was performed in the Traverse One to a sold-out auditorium.
The production was warmly received and the feedback was very positive. This group (aged 12-16yrs) plan to continue working on the show and aim to stage a full production later in the year.
The whole night was an inspiring demonstration of the vitality and energy behind Scottish Youth Theatre and we look forward to seeing what our Drama groups achieve next!
