Margaret McCormick, Visual Arts Programmer for Platform shared her thoughts on the campaign...
All Different. All The Same is a short film focusing on the vibrant community that meet and gather at the Wellhouse Allotments in Glasgow’s east end. All Different. All The Same is a collaboration between the people of Wellhouse Allotments and filmmakers Colin James Tennant and Jassy Earl.
Wellhouse allotments are part of Connect Community Trust, a charity that sets out to meet the needs and demands of the community including easily accessible services and activities, addressing employment, personal finances, childcare, health and anti-social behaviour.
Special thanks to George Haggen, Jim Copeland, Debbie McKenna, Maggie Park, Eddie Andrews, Pauline Smith and Ian McDonald who were instrumental in setting up the allotments 10 years ago.
All Different. All The Same was commissioned by Luminate in association with Platform. Supported by SCVO and the Big Lottery Fund. With thanks to Connect Community Trust
About the commission
Colin James Tennant was commissioned to create a new film with older people from the Easterhouse area. Working with artist Jassy Earl, Colin met with different groups from Wellhouse Allotments, Blairtummock Hall and Platform to discuss themes around digital technology and its positive and negative effects. All Different. All The Same provides a snapshot of modern living from the perspective of older people living in and around Easterhouse.
Here more about the project, through thoughts shared from the people that took part in the project in this short film:
