Nu Gen is for young people aged 11+
Platform were delighted to work in partnership with Celtic FC Foundation earlier this summer to programme and deliver a series of music, dance, visual art and performance as part of their Summer Community Games project.
Over the 6 weeks of the school summer holiday, their dedicated space at Celtic Park welcomed over 60 young people every day, who were served healthy free breakfasts and lunches alongside sports and arts activity. The programme aims to support the children attending to develop confidence, communication and teamwork skills.
We were delighted to offer creative workshops throughout the programme including music sessions led by Hannah Lee and Rachel Wilson - some great pieces were created through percussion and song. Artists Pearl Kinnear, Alice Dansey-Wright and Celie Bryne hosted several expressive sessions that explored drawing, painting and sculpture, including handmade books and contributing to a large map of the local neighbourhood of Parkhead.
Artists delivered a mix of drama workshops that involved role play, games and performance including Sally Charleton, Bishop May Down, Sean McGarvey and Jack Tully, who all helped the young people enjoy playful and creative sessions!
Thank you to everyone at Celtic FC Foundation, artists and everyone who attended.
