Ending the year with a little joy and a lot of ice cream!
As we wrap up our free holiday food and activities programme, we're delighted to have provided a varied range of activities, breakfasts and lunches to families across Easterhouse.
Throughout the programme, we served thousands of meals and offered 24 creative activities over 6 weeks of the summer holiday, ranging from arts and crafts to sports and educational events. As a last day hurrah, performance artists The Refs joined us to turn our space into one big game where participants had to compete in games and challenges to be crowned MVP!
One family said they had “discovered good activities and classes in [their] area”, emphasising that it was “lovely to see lots of people having fun”. One festival regular spoke of the impact of our Alexandra Park Festival Day, sharing:
“[I] love when this festival comes around. It's great to see the amount of people who support this event. It brings the community together”.
We could not have achieved this success without the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, staff, hosts and performers - thank you. We also extend our gratitude to our funders, including Glasgow City Council's Holiday Food and Activity Programme,
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our mission to offer a year-round programme of cutting-edge performance, music, visual arts and participation. This includes the resumption of our taking part activities, including music classes, drama workshops and social meet-ups, as well as our scheduled exhibitions and events. We invite you to share your experiences and feedback, and stay connected with us, via our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you at Platform soon. You can find out all we have on by visiting our ‘what’s on' page - there's something for all ages, abilities and interests.
