Joasihno is a German electronic duo featuring Nico Sierig and Cico Beck and are often accompanied by a robot orchestra. Alasdair Roberts is an acclaimed Scottish folk musician, renowned songwriter and interpreter of traditional songs.

We have invited these seemingly disparate musicians to collaborate and interpret aspects of Scottish and German folk music. What appears at first to be an odd pairing starts to make sense when the audience hears the innovative way that Joasihno create delicate and subtle melody throughout their graceful, mesmerising music – which is then paired with the drama, tragedy of the subject matter and the intuitive masterful beauty of Alasdair’s guitar playing.

Both acts will play sets of their own material followed by a collaboration with The Goethe Institut.

HEADING TO PLATFORM FROM GLASGOW CITY CENTRE? A bus will leave Mono (12 King’s Court, Glasgow) at 6.30pm and return after each Celtic Connection 2018 show. A return ticket costs £5 and can be purchased in Monorail. Please email info@platform-online.co.uk to reserve a ticket.
